(Full title: Harris: Trump remark on protecting women whether they like it or not ‘offensive’)

*shudder*
What a trip it is, reading this title...and empathically feeling the full energetic impact of Division as it currently exists amongst women in this country... Any woman who's operating with any kind of sovereign, independent sense of herself, or self-aware consciousness, obviously will feel instant offense and revulsion at those words... And any woman who's operating within the current uber-conservative Fundamentalist Christian GOP mindset will feel...yes, they will feel warm fuzzies, feel *even more protected* by DJT saying, "I will be your protector," and when he adds "...whether they like it or not," rather than feeling taken aback and protective of themselves, they feel even greater safety....as astonishing as that may be for many of us, and I mention it because I know many people would never imagine this to be possible... I can tell you for a fact that this is so...though I wish I'd never witnessed this phenomenon before... ;(
But again, fortunately...(you know the rest...lol)...

Vice President Harris slammed former President Trump for saying at a rally on Wednesday that he would be women’s “protector,” a phrase he used two months ago and again this week at a rally in Wisconsin.
She addressed specifically Trump’s claim that his advisers had counseled him against describing himself a “protector” for women and he said “I’m going to do it whether the women like it or not. I’m going to protect them.”
“It actually is, I think, very offensive to women in terms of not understanding their agency, their authority, their right and their ability to make decisions about their own lives, including their own bodies,” Harris told reporters Thursday. “And this is just the latest on a series of reveals by the former president on how he thinks about women and their agency.”
She added, “whether he has said, as he has, that women should be punished for their choices, whether he has talked about his pride is taking away a fundamental right of women, whether it be how he has actually created a situation in America where one in three women lives in a Trump abortion ban state.”
The Democratic nominee also responded on social media to the clip of Trump at his rally. He made the remark this week in the context of protecting women from migrants committing crimes after entering the country illegally.
“My people told me about four weeks ago, I would say, ‘No, I want to protect the people. I want to protect the women of our country. I want to protect the women,’” Trump said at a Green Bay, Wis., rally.
“They said, ‘Sir, I just think it’s inappropriate for you to say.’ I pay these guys a lot of money. Can you believe it?” Trump continued. “I said, ‘Well, I’m going to do it whether the women like it or not. I’m going to protect them. I’m going to protect them from migrants coming in. I’m going to protect them from foreign countries that want to hit us with missiles and lots of other things.’”
The exchange comes less than a week before Election Day, as the former president struggles to close the gender gap between him and the vice president.
Harris aides quickly seized on the comment from the rally and argued Trump’s comments showed Trump does not care about female voters.
“Defining line of this campaign? Trump: ‘I’m gonna do it whether the women like it or not,’” Harris campaign spokesperson James Singer posted on X.
“Saying the quiet part out loud there,” Lauren Hitt, another Harris campaign aide, posted on X.
Trump at a late September rally sought to directly address the women in the crowd, telling them, “I am your protector. I want to be your protector. As president, I have to be your protector. I hope you don’t make too much of it. I hope the fake news doesn’t go, ‘Oh, he wants to be their protector.’ Well, I am. As president, I have to be your protector.”

Yes ma'am...
And while I know it's upsetting...and I'll make especial note that this is not the behavior of many men who identify as Fundamentalist Christians, certainly not those coming from true Christ-ian orientation...another thing I've observed that some may not be aware of, is that there are many incredibly abusive, controlling and manipulative men who rationalize and justify their evil behavior toward women *as being given the right to do so* by God... Yes, you read that correctly...
There are men who read the way the bible has configured the whole "implied hierarchy" of men being "superior to women" within it, due to the Adam and Eve creation story, as God having provided them with literal justification for *whatever they imagine they have to do, to keep any female "under their roof"/"within their care," IN LINE*... For these men, this is just literally what God intended for life on Earth -- for women to be subservient to men, in everything (no matter how sick a fuck he might be), and for men to *have the last word,* be the ruler of their household...
It would be quite the tossup, which is more sick -- a man feeling justified by God to do violence against his wife/mother/daughter, or a wife/mother/daughter feeling obliged to submit to such perversion...
Again: I take no issue with however anyone feels inclined to live their own spiritual truth! None! It's only when *there's an attempt of one religion trying to force its way into being the only allowed/approved religion* within a Facist-type regime enforced as *national law*...
...and then, we have a problem. One that will not be allowed to come into being...
