(Full title: MAGA operative gets live fact check after saying Nazis were left-wing socialists)
***
I dunno...obviously I'm not dialed into what passes for basic intelligence within the MAGA's context and experience of themselves ~!!!~ ...but you would think there would be *some semblance of a bar* beneath which, at some point, something this hilariously ridiculous would have to set off SOME kind of weenie alarm, *somewhere* there...???
These doofuses truly do believe they can *literally SAY ANYTHING,* without a moment's regard for how childislhly absurd it is to claim it...! Unbelievable...

Republican strategist Tricia McLaughlin tried to defend former President Donald Trump against charges of being a fascist by falsely claiming that fascism is a left-wing socialist political ideology.
During an interview with CNN's Sara Sidner, McLaughlin argued that it was dangerous for Democrats to echo claims made by Trump's own former White House chief of staff about Trump being a fascist because it could result in someone trying to kill him.
"The natural conclusion of calling Donald Trump a Nazi, calling Donald Trump the next Hitler, is that someone will again try to kill him," she said.
"John Kelly was the person who called him a fascist, which is his former chief of staff," replied Sidner. "And so Democrats have been repeating what his former chief of staff said."
At this point, McLaughlin tried to deflect from the issue by denying that fascism is a right-wing political ideology at all, despite the fact that it is defined as an ideology "that exalts nation and often race above the individual, that is associated with a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, and that is characterized by severe economic and social regimentation and by forcible suppression of opposition."
Additionally, when Nazis took power in the 1930s, socialists and communists were among the first people whom they targeted for political persecution.
"Fascism is rooted in socialism!" she said. "So we've got to get the definition correct because Donald Trump by no means is a socialist."
"Fascism certainly isn't socialism either," Sidney shot back.
Democratic strategist Matt Bennett also issued a fact check of his own, saying, "Socialism and fascism are very very different. Fascism is right-wing authoritarianism."

No one can call him anything (according to Trump), only he can call everyone else anything he wants.
I mean, we've heard he try to label his opponents (even republicans who don't side with him) as communists, Marxists (Bannon identifies himself as a Leninist and Marxist, btw), socialists, and yes, even fascists as it suits him.
But, you know, rules only apply to other people and he'll never take responsibility for his own bad behavior or attacks.
And Trump is a fascist. That's clear now. The fact many of his base don't understand what fascism is (or anything else for that matter) is sad. It's made them a target for radicalization.
Many were duped during the leadup to WWII as well, preferring the Nazi side and claiming they were patriotic.
If people don't learn from history, don't understand it, don't even know...they are prey for those forces that do.
Being the daughter of a WWII era father (a veteran of that war), mother and grandparents who talked of "what happened" and "who were the nazis" and "How could the German people be fooled by them"... it's been pretty identifiable. We're losing those who were there now. We're even losing many from the generation of children (like me) who heard the firsthand stories from their parents.
Those with fascists (far right wing) tendancies have benefitted from it.
The voices of warning from our fathers, mothers, grandfathers and mothers, used to be strong..now they're disappearing, and the enemy has returned wrapped in a flag and pretending to be patriots again.
Keep an eye on the Madison Square Garden Trump rally. This is the same place in 1939 where American nazis who supported Hitler also gathered.
Your eyes need to be so open right now. If you don't know history, then at least go read up on it. Better late than never. It's not too late yet.
