Trump tops Harris by 1 point in battleground Michigan survey
BY FILIP TIMOTIJA 10/15/24 12:23 PM ET
(AP Photo/Alex Brandon/Jacquelyn Martin) Former President Trump is leading his Vice President Harris, by 1 point in a head-to-head matchup in the battleground state of Michigan just three weeks before Election Day, according to a new survey.
The AARP poll, released Tuesday, shows Trump edging out his Democratic rival by 49 percent to 48 percent in the Great Lakes State, well within the margin of error. Another 1 percent said they would choose another option, while 2 percent remained undecided.
When the contest was expanded to include independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Green Party hopeful Jill Stein, the party nominees were tied with 46 percent. Kennedy brought in 3 percent support, Stein received 1 percent and 2 percent were undecided, the poll found.
Broken down by age, the former president led Harris 47 percent to 46 percent with voters between 50 and 65 years old. The vice president pulled ahead of Trump with young voters ages 18-34, garnering 54 percent support to her GOP rival’s 40 percent. Harris also held the lead with voters over the age of 65, bringing in 53 percent support to Trump’s 42 percent, the survey shows.
Both White House contenders had strong backing from their party’s base, but the poll found a large gender gap. Trump led by 21 points among men, 57 percent to 36 percent, while Harris topped him among women, bringing in 55 percent to Trump’s 36 percent, according to the poll.
Trump had a 7-point lead with independents, 45 percent to 38 percent, pollsters noted.
As early voting has kicked off in several battleground states, polling also shows the former president with a minimal lead, 48 percent to 47 percent, over Harris with early voters in the battleground states, according to a recent Harvard CAPS/Harris survey.
The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s aggregate of polls in the state shows Trump leading the vice president in Michigan by less than 1 point — 48.7 percent to 48 percent. Harris, however, is leading nationally with 49.8 percent to the former president’s 46.9 percent, the index shows.
The AARP poll was conducted Oct. 2-8 among 1,382 likely voters and it has a margin of error was 4 percentage points.

Time for polls are done. People are voting. Time to fill out the ballot if you have one, or make a plan to drop off (know where you have a drop off box if they do that where you live), or where your polling station is.
This is the poll that actually counts: voting.

you’ve spent the last year and a half saying it was too early for polls and now the time for polls is done? maybe i missed it it all your nonsense but just when was the time for polls?
and if kamala needs polls to show a close election to get voter turnout isn’t now the time for polls to show a close election which this article does?

I've spent the last year pointing out the polls are untrustworthy. They still are.
The message is don't let other people do your thinking or interpret information for you. Have your own thoughts and opinions. Check out the facts for yourself. Show up..look with your own eyes. Talk to people themselves. Don't let the internet or the thousands trying to frame things "for you" do your thinking for you. These things can be manipulated and we know that. These "polls" have been off, either by design or error, in the past. Don't be fooled again.
Think for yourself. Don't be fooled again. That's the message.

"The message is don't let other people do your thinking or interpret information for you."
That's exactly why every should ignore your robotic mediabiasfact.com reactions. You've finally caught on. Kudos!

One of the reasons I like mediabias is they have links to all their claims you can go check out yourself. So far, they are very accurate on most sources.
"never listen" can be another warning to others.
Just saying, check it out..you can explore their claims then decide.
As opposed to "how dare anyone claim there's anything wrong with this source because I agree with it."
Your sourcing of twitter for so many things of late is problematic. While some sources on there may come from legitimate sources, others are anonymous or can even be fraudulently claiming to be something they're not.
But, if they agree with you.. you will use it, despite the risk to your credibility.
That's on you.
And mind you a warning to check a source and it's credibility is not the same as banning them. It's an added layer to help people "think about it". Bopp doesn't ban them here, but he also doesn't stop evaluations of where information is coming from...and with good reason!
You deal mostly with Gaza and information that comes out of a war zone is historically "at risk' of being propaganda right off. You, especially, should be very careful about those sources. That's the same of any warzone (like Russia and Ukraine). There's propanda masquarading as news stories all the time, both sides (but more resources on the Russian side to produce those).
In politics...propanda is almost certain, even from usually good sources, hit pieces, opinion pages and even hit pieces under a "news banner" will be slipped in from campaigns whenever possible, and now AI created stuff as well.
All readers need to be especially on their toes. Source checking are not bad words. Fact checking is not a bad term... they are only bad to those who seek to hide things.
People who want to see fact checking banned most definitely are attempting hide from those facts.
Those who hate to ever have their stories even questioned by being checked (or the source checked..or access to a checker given to others) need to ck their own ego.

polls doing anyone’s thinking? what the hell does that even mean??? polls aren’t supposed to do your thinking lol
you did say for quite a long time that it was too early for polls. more recently you claimed kamala needed polls that showed a close election in order to get the turnout she needs. i’m just asking why so inconsistent in what you say about polls
polls will always be part of the election and it’s a bit weird the way you keep responding to articles on polls even contradicting yourself

I've been clear to those that remember, that can hear. I can't help if it you don't want to hear.
I'm not going to try to persuade you..too late for that. I think a prayer for your soul would do better at this point.

well i wouldn’t be asking about your inconsistency if you didn’t make inconsistent claims. just a few days ago you claimed kamala needed close polls but then you complain about close polls. believe the polls or not why didn’t that make you happy?

you seem to have a comprehension issue.
There are no inconsistencies except the ones you're attempting to create.
The polls aren't trustworthy. The illusion of a close race is good for her GOTV strategy, whether they're accurate or not.
False polls and padded polls dropped in the averages to push Trump's closer serve his needs: claiming the election will be stolen (and getting out his vote).
I'm pointing these out as campaign strategies. It doesn't mean the polls are trustworthy, only that both sides are using them as a tool to benefit themselves.
It's an explanation. If you understand what is going on, you may understand why you need to think for yourself and not allow a poll to think for you (or the people behind polls).
Were you trying to make me happy, OT? I'm touched!
