People are suffering and need hope and need to know that their government, the people that are supposed to represent them, are doing whatever they can to help.
"Mike Johnson Refuses to Call Back Congress to Vote on Hurricane Aid
House Speaker Mike Johnson would not commit to bringing Congress back to session to vote on additional aid for victims of Hurricane Helene during an interview on Fox News Sunday. Despite a written request from President Biden and from a bipartisan group of Representatives and Senators which included Rick Scott and Jared Moskowitz, Johnson said there was no need to call a special session before Congress officially returns after the November election.
"That’s 30 days from now," Johnson said. "The thing about these hurricanes and disasters of this magnitude is it takes a while to calculate the actual damages, and the states are going to need some time to do that."
Congress has historically interrupted recess to vote on supplemental aid for disaster relief. Congress returned in September of 2005 to approve an additional $51.8 billion in aid for Hurricane Katrina. Congress approved $20 billion for FEMA's Disaster Relief Fund before leaving D.C. at the end of September, despite the agency's request for $33.1 billion for the fiscal year starting in October. 82 Republicans in Congress voted against that funding, while all Democrats voted in favor.
"Without additional funding, FEMA would be required to forego longer-term recovery activities in favor of meeting urgent needs," Biden wrote in his request to Congress. "The Congress should provide FEMA additional resources to avoid forcing that kind of unnecessary trade-off and to give the communities we serve the certainty of knowing that help will be ongoing, both for the short and long-term."
Biden has also requested additional funding for the Small Business Administration to help business owners affected by Helene.
"Congress will provide," Johnson said Sunday. "We will help people in these disaster-prone areas. It’s an appropriate role for the federal government, and you’ll have bipartisan support for that, and it’ll all happen in due time, and we’ll get that job done. There shouldn’t be any concern about that."

the new maga-GOP do not care about people suffering, they only care about what Trump wants them to do..and what Trump wants is those people to suffer so he can blame Biden/Harris.
This will backfire.
Just like killing the bi-partisen immigration bill backfired.
Most of the people their strategizing to hurt..are their own voters.
They are fine throwing their own states under the bus, all those people under the bus, for their own political advantage. They're not human beings to them, they're calculated political strategy for a man who's desperate to stay out of jail.
This is where the evil is so evident.
There is another major hurricane coming, too.
This is anything but Christian.
Trump is anything but Christian. I hope those Christians misled will wake up before it's too late.

There are SOOO many who were hit hard by Helene and now, it looks like Milton. But they are the ones who are not getting the news or information due to infrastructure destruction. Unfortunately, the magagop will spin this all into the Democrats fault.
