with comment about Harris voter 'getting hurt')

Okay: This isn't America, I'm not where I live and on my
computer; I'm in an alternative reality and I've just
stumbled into a vintage movie theatre where they're
playing The Godfather...Don Corleone has died his hair
orange and had bad work done...

WHAT country is this???

***

Donald Trump shocked observers on Sunday with a comment
he made about a potential supporter of Vice President
Kamala Harris at one of the former president's swing-
state rallies.

Trump, who has been accused of fostering violence that
occurred on Jan. 6, 2021, gave a speech in Wisconsin over
the weekend. At that rally, the ex-president battled a
fly on stage and called his own campaign members "so
stupid."

At that same rally, Trump made an off-hand comment that
had some political onlookers sounding the alarm.

"Is there anybody here who's going to vote for lyin'
Kamala?" Trump asked his rally attendees. "Actually, I
should say don't raise your hand, it would be very
dangerous. We don't want to see anybody get hurt. Please
don't raise your hand."

Harris' campaign shared the video on social media,
writing, "Trump says it’s 'very dangerous' for Kamala
Harris voters to identify themselves because they’ll 'get
hurt.'"

Retired research engineer David Rommel voluntarily
identified his voting preferences:

"I'm voting for Kamala! I'm a republican that is not
opposed to taking on that challenge," he wrote. "The only
thing that scares me is Trump winning another term. When
Trump is in prison and they are all arrested for rioting
we can all take a breath of fresh air."

A popular account called CALL TO ACTIVISM, founded by
attorney Joe Gallina, replied, "What the hell does this
mean? Donald Trump says it’s 'very dangerous' for Kamala
Harris voters to identify themselves because they’ll 'get
hurt.' Is that a threat??"

Another popular account known for liberal political
commentary, AesPolitics1, wrote, "Trump says it’s 'very
dangerous' for Kamala Harris voters to identify
themselves because they’ll 'get hurt.' Never before in
history have we seen an anti-American piece of s--- as
bad as Trump."

Whoa, baby...lol... Putting this below the post I did a
few minutes ago... In it, I described feeling like I'd
stumbled into a vintage movie theatre w/The Godfather
playing, with Don Doofus instead of Don Corleone...but
NOW, woops, I'm no longer in that movie theatre, I'm in a
huge crowd of people...sounds like they're yelling "Sieg
Heil! Sieg Heil!" but when I listen more closely, it's
*You're holding up FOUR fingers! FOUR fingers!* And when
I look toward the podium, all's I can see is orange hair,
a tiny orange mustache, and a spotlight trained on his
hand holding up three fingers...

But y'know...all dark humor aside...you'd think, wouldn't
you, that when people'd hear this talk about BAD GENES,
sooo reminiscent of Hitler and his trajectory, that even
his die-hardest minions might take pause for a
second...wonder to themselves if their own genetics would
be *pure enough to pass muster* within the New American
Reich...? Interrupt the spell for a *moment* maybe?

But then we saw what happened there...didn't we...

Former President Donald Trump stunned political experts
on both sides of the aisle Monday with an on-air rant
about people with "bad genes."

Trump, during an interview with conservative commentator
Hugh Hewitt, relied on what critics called the rhetoric
of eugenics — the discredited philosophy behind Nazi
dictator Adolf Hitler's attempt to exterminate Jewish
people — when he railed against undocumented immigrants.

"Many of them murdered far more than one person," Trump
declared. "A murderer, I believe this, it's in their
genes. And we got a lot of bad genes in our country right
now."

This clip was aired again on CNN Monday morning by a
visibly shocked John Berman.

"He was calling them murderers," Berman said.

Berman turned the discussion to Republican strategist
Lanhee Chen and Democratic strategist Aisha Mills, who
raised the specter of racial extermination.

"We have long known that Donald Trump has revered the
Nazis," said Mills. "He has revered Hitler, has read his
books...Trump has had a very sinister philosophy wanting
to be a dictator."

Mills urged viewers to take seriously Trump's words and
not to dismiss them as a "Freudian slip."

"He would absolutely try to exterminate an entire group
of people because he thinks that their genes are somehow
different than his," Mills said. "I say this with all the
sternness that you hear in my voice because it is serious
and Americans should recognize that."

Chen tried to downplay the significance of Trump's words
but even he felt compelled to distance himself from the
comment.

"This is an example of an issue where Trump would have
the opportunity to have an advantage, which is
immigration," Chen said. "But comments like this are
certainly not useful in driving that advantage."

On social media, political experts echoed Mills'
concerns.

"Donald Trump has gone full eugenicist here," said
constitutional attorney Anthony Micheal Kreis. "It so
deeply harmful."

"This isn't even surprising from him," replied Pradheep
J. Shanker, a contributor to the conservative magazine
National Review. "He doesn't give a damn about the harm."

He's clearly priming his base to do violence on his
behalf. He's giving them rationales and justifications
to do so.

He's, one more time, getting ready to call for his base
to do violence if he doesn't win.

Didn't work out for them last time with many of them
ending up in jail. He didn't save them ..he used them
and threw them under the bus the first time.

How many will be dumb enough to take him up on it
again?
This time, measures are sure to be taken pre-emptively
to protect capitols and places of import. The other
party is in charge who will undoubtedly take different
actions.
I dunno.
They're not real smart.

Right? I wonder what they'll do, too...I keep getting the
image of lemmings heading toward "This cliff! Over here!
Jump NOW!"....it's hard to shake... I'll work in an image
of them turning away at the last moment...who knows? ;)

Well, one of my son's resigned for the national guard.
So, this is a personal concern of mine. Last time, he
ended up at the state capitol building called there to
protect because of what happened at the national
capitol.

While a few crazies showed up, there were no where near
the numbers there were in Wash DC, and they did no
violence...probably because they were severely
outnumbered.

Another reason why I cannot forgive what happened on
Jan. 6th 2020, and I'll never vote for the head
deplorable who cares nothing about this country or its
people.

Couldn't get more personal for you then, could it,
(((Red?)))

I feel the same way, though I sure don't have that close a
personal parallel...and no, those behind and who enacted
January 6th don't deserve *anyone's forgiveness* -- at
least not until our country has become newly secured and
solid within the intentions the Constitution and Bill of
Rights set forth for it...and even then, I'm still not
sure...

Your son will be in my prayers, as is the rest of your
family always, Redhart...

Thank you, shadow. we're going to need prayers for our
whole country until the magic hamburger finally hits.

See, and OT think a VP's story about whether he was in
china in April or August 35 yrs ago makes one bit of
freaking difference or even logs on the scale at all
when I had a son in the NG on Jan 6th? Or lost 7 family
members from a botched covid response...many due to his
direct lies and coverup?

OT is under the delusion that we don't see the MASSIVE
difference between Trump's deadly and dangerous lies
and another's mis-remembering an event by a few months?

He's as delusional as his leader..or those who tell him
how to spin things.

I know I'm not alone here. Working at the county fair
(a red county) showed me how many people were so fed up
with this baby in a old man's body that causes
destruction and chaos wherever he goes. Republicans
were re-registering to get away from him. They want
their party back, and I can't blame them.

There are a lot of people who DO see the dangers he
represents to our country, their own families and
themselves. In my opinion, far more than don't see
those dangers (or are afraid to voice them).

The followers are mentally stuck in the past and
seriously believe that they can return to the past and
if you look at the overwhelming majority of those in
the crowd of his, they are white, senior citizens who
do not understand this current world of ours and desire
to go back to the 'good old days' of long ago where
things made sense to them and there was a definitive
good/bad - whether it was right or wrong, didn't
matter.

So the orange guy will say anything and everything to
keep that illusion of going back into the past alive in
his voters minds. And defining the other side as 'bad',
can justify fighting it because that is what these
seniors did growing up - fighting the 'bad' especially
in the times of war, during the depression (the 'bad'
was the depression and its hard times). For them It
was a time when corporations didn't screw over
everybody, the government didn't lie and only had the
best and good intentions for its people, where far more
were law abiding than not, where organized religion was
part of every family and business, where immigrants
were mostly white and would do their best to assimilate
into their new surroundings, where people could be open
about their prejudices and bigotry, when things were
'structured' in a supposedly understandably way (once
again, whether it was right or wrong wasn't questioned
by the people who are his current supporters).

His supporters don't want to hear the truths because
today's truths go contrary to the kind of world his
supporters want again. And therefore, because they are
so desperate, they will support him, they won't
question what he says and certainly will not question
what he promises. In fact, I hate to say this, but his
supporters would have believed and followed Hitler
because of the kind of world he promised.

Thank you for that, Hierophant, that's great insight into
how those of that generation experienced those years...and
how different things are now, in those specific ways (at
least perceptually), and the unique blindspots that
creates...

I tend to see the most dramatic, garish ones...and these
are equally important to grok if we want to understand this
incredibly dark phenomenon...

good post, Heir.

Have heart..I'm a white-haired senior, and I'm not
among them (and neither is my husband or my 90 yr old
mother).

We understand that the "good old days" were not as good
as advertised, nor is it as likely to be returned to as
the medieval times of damsels and knights in shining
armor.

One thing I've learned since I was a young girl, is
there are no "shining knights" to save anyone. We are
our own knights, and we better get the hell out there
and save ourselves. We start with a vote.

These people are certifiably crazy and their leaders
are seriously evil in the same cast as we saw in WWII
rise up in Europe. My father and grandfather fought to
keep them out of America and keep America free. It's
our turn.
