One of the reasons I have a challenging time saying we need unions- because it's the people at the top of the union organization who reap all the HUGE benefits - like this guy who called all the longshoremen on strike - After weeks or even months of the longshoremen on strike, many won't be able to pay their bills, afford food, let along healthcare. YET the Pres of the union has two homes one in NJ - a 7,000sqft home complete with 5 car garage and a Bently, has another home in Florida, has/had yachts, and makes $728,000 a year plus another $173,000.
Who then is actually benefiting the MOST by being in a union? Who will hurt the most when they strike???

I read the same - and although I sympathize with desiring more $ in a paycheck, they are kind of setting themselves up for a long strike when they are demanding no automation -which so many industries have already - from Amazon to auto.
So, their strike will potentially hurt the entire country and all of the people- not just themselves and their families.
