See...what some folks don't seem to fully realize is that the mainstream GOPer mentality sees women as *meant to stay at home and take care of the children* or, as per the wisdom of Mr. Vance, the "grandparents should be steppiing up"... Therefore...any concerns around *child care*...the financial strain of having to pay for care outside the home...*just is not going to be seen as a valid concern by them*........ Take a moment, won't you, and let that sink in....................
I mean...lol...not that Donald Trump ever thinks of child care ANYWAY...(LOLOL! As if that's something that'd ever enter his mind in a natural, spontaneous manner! LOL!)...but if/whenever he did, it'd certainly be "someone else's concern".......... Such a perfect toadie he is for the GOP, in innumerably perfect ways...

The White House and Democrats mocked and ridiculed former President Trump after he delivered a lengthy answer to a question about lowering the cost of child care in which he suggested tariffs on foreign nations would address the problem.
Trump addressed the Economic Club of New York on Thursday and was asked by one member if he would commit “to prioritizing legislation to make child care affordable.”
The former president went on to give a two-minute response in which he did not articulate any specific legislation he would propose but argued the impact of tariffs would be enough to cover child care costs.
“I think when you talk about the kind of numbers that I’m talking about, because child care is child care, you have to have it in this country. You have to have it,” Trump said. “But when you talk about those numbers compared to the type of numbers I’m talking about by taxing foreign nations at levels that they’re not used to, but they’ll get used to it very quickly.”
White House senior deputy press secretary Andrew Bates pointed out in a Friday interview on MSNBC that economists across the political spectrum have warned that tariffs would raise the price of goods, including those needed for child care.
“If you have any idea what the hell that answer means, you’re a better detective than I am, because these tariffs that he wants to apply across the board would amount to a $4,000 tax increase on working families,” Bates said on “Way Too Early.”
Rep. Sean Casten (D-Ill.) said Trump’s response was a case of “towering stupidity.”
“The people listening know it. The people around him know it. Word salad, not even pretending to have a single coherent idea. Vote for smart people,” Casten posted on the social platform X.
“Trump’s answer to address childcare costs is to promote his nearly $4,000 tax increase on middle class families,” James Singer, a spokesperson for the Harris campaign, posted on X.
The cost of child care is expected to be a major issue ahead of November’s election for parents across the country.
Vice President Harris, who is the Democratic nominee, last month said she would push for a restoration of the $3,600 child tax credit for families that was included in the American Rescue Plan in 2021 but expired the same year.
The vice president said she would also call for providing up to $6,000 in tax relief for middle- and low-income families for the first year of their child’s life.
Tariffs on foreign nations has long been a central part of Trump’s economic philosophy. He made clear in his speech to the Economic Club of New York on Thursday that he would pursue more tariffs in a second term if he wins in November, applying them to companies that outsource their jobs or manufacturing base from the United States.

the details, stated clearly...
Q. If you win in November, can you commit to prioritizing legislation to make child care more affordable? And if so, what specific piece of legislation will you advance?
Trump: Well, I would do that and we’re sitting down, you know that I was, uh, somebody, we had, uh, Senator Marco, uh, Rubio, and my daughter Ivanka was so impactful on that issue. It’s a very important issue. But I think when you talk about the kind of numbers that I’m talking about that, because, child care is child care. You couldn’t, you know, it’s something, you have to have it. In this country, you have to have it. But when you talk about those numbers compared to the kind of numbers that I’m talking about by taxing foreign nations at levels that they’re not used to, but they’ll get used to it very quickly, and it’s not going to stop them from doing business with us, but they’ll have a very substantial tax when they send products into our country. Those numbers are so much bigger than any numbers we’re talking about including childcare. That’s gonna take care, I, I look forward to having no deficits within a fairly short period of time. Coupled with, uh, the reductions I told you about on waste and fraud and all of the other things that are going on in our country because I have to stay with childcare but those numbers are small relative to the kind of economic numbers that I’m talking about here, including growth, but growth also headed up by what the plan is that I just told you about. We’re going to be taking in trillions of dollars and as much as childcare is talked about as being expensive it’s relatively speaking not very expensive compared to compared to the kind of numbers we’re going to be taking in. We’re going to make this into an incredible country that can afford to take care of its people and then we’ll worry about the rest of the world. We’ll take care of other people. But this is about America first. It’s about making America great again. We have to do it. Because right now we’re a failing nation. Thank you for that question.”

Y'know, taking in this chunk...(erp)...I'm all- unwittingly regrokking something pretty unsavory, another angle of "appeal" (if that word can be used...maybe "pull" is better) that DJT holds over the human beings who see him as Their Man...
That power of *identifying with,* relating to, it really has everything to do with a candidate's popularity with people, yes? Thanks for posting that, ryan: This paragraph is such a perfect example of *many words strung together that say absolutely nothing,* and not even in any kind of particularly creative, entertaining or convincing manner...just straight-up horseshite, unadulterated, unredeemable.
...& here's the thing: There are many people who are extremely self-conscious about *speaking what they have to say,* because inherently they know they're...well, not exactly on point, in whatever way(s). Because they know how it would sound if they were to vent their spleens/their truth where others could hear them...and their remaining human consciences are ringing a little bell that doing so might not be their wisest choice. But they FEEL the way they do, no matter how "incorrect" it may be *humanly* (rather than "politically"! lol!)...nor how little literal sense it might make... Donald is their hero, too! ;) Absolutely he is...
You can stand up there, rattle off a paragraph of absolute nonsense...and there will be a significant number of people who will feel profoundly, deeply validated by whatever you say..........no matter what it is...
Hey, I'm here all week! lololol Just trying to cheer things up a little... ;D ;D ;D
