For those not familiar, NextDoor is a neighborhood-based social media app... A fertile field w/out a doubt, some real gems here... ;D

my fav locally was the neighbor, who apparently had quite a few beers on the 4th of july, and was pulled stopped by our neighborhood officers for driving down the road on a riding mower with nothing but a cowboy hat on (wish I still had that post, the comments were priceless).
And...like the wild pigs, we've had ring pictures posted asking who's dog was out...showing bears.
(Yeah, we live in the wild west here).
What kind of bug is this? and What kind of snake is this? are always popular fare for smart ass replies.
Recently, a local organic greenhouse installed grow lights that glow red at night (very brightly) turning their greenhouse roofing incandescent... speculation on what they were doing in their greenhouse went anywhere from growing pot to alien invasions and glowing rifts effusing magma (it was a very large greenhouse).
Animal photos rule... some of the past favs have been the elk playing with a young horse, bear cubs wrestling on people's porches, mountain lions peering directly into the Ring cameras and one Elk who had accidentally gotten into some balloons and had them wrapped around his antlers simply labeled "Party animal".
Nextdoor has been a source of much amusement.

Right? ;D ;D ;D Thanks so much for sharing bits from your local... Same overall themes appearing in this wild-west corner too...lots of critters, critter questions, people looking for contractor/service recommendations, etc. ;) Cowboy-hat dude and glowing red mystery lights, we have not yet had though... ;)
Some local groups in AZ end up having mods locking down certain threads that flame up politically, like, instantly...and we love them for it... One in recent memory rode the bleeding edge of protocol, which they allowed it to remain...and I was pleased... ;) It started out with one guy posting darkly about "the unpatriotic criminal who had ripped the flag off the side of their house and tried to bury it in the leaves in their backyard"... This, on the morning after one of the biggest windstorms we've had in a long time, w/winds reaching 60-70 mph...lol... He signed his post off with, "We WILL FIND YOU and DEAL WITH YOU!!!"... ;D ;D ;D
Several folk tried to gently offer the wind as culprit instead of the comic-book antipatriot character he had in his mind... One pointed out he had jumped to an unproven conclusion and then issued a public threat...but we'll never know if he privately stood down, bless his heart... ;D
Some lovely connections happen there, though...and of course the fun that human nature provides will never be in short supply... ;D
