it used to be or not to be.
Now it is toe shake or not toe shake.
While the toe shake looks like a friendly social thing it may not be
much safer in terms of germ transmission considering the fact that
people walk all over the place
How about greeting the Native Indian way?

with a "how" or "hooow" or adapted for today's culture "hoowiiee"
perhaps accompanied with a gesture offering the palm of the hand
but without touching.
It may bring about a whole new culture of friendly greeting.
