True story on funny 911 calls. "'911 what's your emergency?' 'There's a pig in the road. A big one.' 'Sir where are you?' 'At the stoplight. It's the biggest damn pig I have ever seen. Get someone here now!' (One stoplight town, the bar is near the intersection.) 'How big is the pig?' 'About the size of a Volkswagen?' 'How much have you had to drink?' 'I'm not f**king drunk! It's a giant pig the size of a small car! What is wrong with you people?' Officers show up to find a full grown hippo that had escaped from the local wild animal park." LOL |

Lol, reminds me of my stories, back in S Ca. It was late at night and about to come to a stop sign when I had to stop my car suddenly and watched a giant rat cross the road and disappear into a gutter area. I went home exclaiming the rat was giant! THen talking we came to conclusion it was an Opossum ! Years earlier I was out in my own backyard and spied what looked to be a really big rat thing. I caught with a glass jar and my broom. Husband came home and said I had caught a gopher. lol. |

lol you would have freaked if you saw what was in my back yard the other day, then. I brought my dog in until it left (although I don't think they hunt live animals..the one in the photo above has him defending a nest). He landed on a rock and I kept thinking that bird can't be as big as it looks...and then it stood on the rock and stretched his wings out! He was bigger! By the time I got my camera turned on and pointed, he was flying away. |

| wow, that's a big vulture? looks like. Biggest bird I've seen here on the property was a bald eagle, it was couple winters ago. All of the crows came to him while he was here, just sitting on the fence. I took some pics. It was like a big party for them and then after a while he flew away and the crows followed him. We get bears here too. And elk. and deer and foxes and skunks. |

It's actually a California Condor..much bigger than a turkey vulture (but a cousin). We live in their range here, but I had never seen one that close and on my property. We have bald eagles, too.. Golden eagles are even bigger. But Condor is king and I was lucky enough to see him on my back acre with his wings stretched out. My mind was trying to make what I was seeing make sense, because I'm used to seeing buzzards. I kept thinking, "that can't be right...he's too huge" |
