Will Yoon be flown out of the country in a CIA plane? I'm sure Tony Blinken is
wringing his hands thinking of that possibility. That's what happened when
Syngman Rhee, South Korea's first president, was deposed in 1960. My sense
is, this failed coup spells Yoon's end. TS

BREAKING FROM KOREA: President Yoon announced the lifting of martial law
at 4:30 AM, stating that the National Assembly had resolved to lift martial law,
and accordingly, the military was withdrawn. 1/3 🧵

However, since it is early morning and the quorum of cabinet members is not
met, he announced that the lifting of martial law would be resolved once all
cabinet members gather shortly. 2/3

He also mentioned that the ongoing anti-state situations such as impeachment
demands and budget freezes by the opposition party must cease. Cho Kuk,
leader of an opposition party, declared that Yoon's declaration of martial law
was a "failed coup d'état by his loyalists." 3/3
