than anyone thinks other than that everyone here wishes what is happening in the mideast would stop...there is no one here celebrating what is going on over there...so that is a good starting point...we are all on the same page about that...
then there is the question of what to do? unfortunately, none of us can "do"...that is obvious...there are a lot of differing opinions as to what one wishes to be done...but wishes are like fishes in the sea...they cannot stem the tide...like i said earlier, if it could be different, it would be different...
so what would it take to make it different? certainly not tearing one's hair out or pointing fingers and accusing others of whatever...what can one do...perhaps it might make a difference to write letters, to protest, to bring things to the attention of the public...the most important thing one can do, imo, is try to work on their own self...try to be a better person and let the ripples of your own betterment affect those around you...the second thing one can do, at least in this country, is vote...try to put people in positions of power who have integrity and a true desire to help people...people who think about others before themselves...
there are many reasons why what is happening is happening...and the impeti for what is happening occurred long ago...change on this scale does not happen quickly...there are no "do this and everything will change for the better" solutions...these are things that must be remembered as we all feel the pain and suffering of what is occurring...events like this can be useful...

“unfortunately, none of us can "do"...that is obvious.”
Just a couple of months ago you specifically said than anyone who posts (complains) about issues without offering solutions is a ‘loser’. Then your mini-me here picked up your words and repeated them, also accusing us of being losers. Maybe you should watch your own words. You may be influencing people in ways you don’t intend. When you shit on people here you give permission to others to do the same.
“perhaps it might make a difference to write letters, to protest, to bring things to the attention of the public..”
My primary purpose posting here is to bring things to the attention of the public. I deliberately attempt to avoid obvious, corporate driven news sources. I post stories specifically NOT in the mainstream media.
“the most important thing one can do, imo, is try to work on their own self...try to be a better person”.
No shit. Sharing information here and working on oneself are not mutually exclusive activities. Isn't that a reason you have this site?

"My primary purpose posting here is to bring things to the attention of the public."
You are delusional if you think posting here "bring things to the attention of the public."
Methinks you post here to indulge yourself in your own self importance.. to whine instead of actually doing anything productive. In fact I find your posts a complete waste of time. But hey it's your time you are wasting.. and thank you for wasting it here so we an watch you waste it.
Really akira, if you wanted to change anything you would not be here..

I'm going to wait and see if ryan's got anything to say to this before I post my thoughts, obviously as it's addressed to him within an ongoing conversation...and of course I welcome his to this, as well, if I'm presuming/expressing anything that doesn't ring true...
"My primary purpose posting here is to bring things to the attention of the public."
LOL! No, it's not. Going straight by your actions, your purpose posting here is to not only share things you see as not being brought forward by corporate-owned media, but to badger, disrespect and insult the character of and otherwise troll *anyone who doesn't clearly post in support of what you're sharing*...so, sorry, no cigar on the self-righteous victim shite...
And ryan/Mr. Bopp has not once portrayed himself as anything but exactly who he is. You and several others before you somehow disappear that fact relentlessly and with great commitment...decide to take issue with who he is and attack how he moderates/comments within his forum... And when he doesn't respond to your attacks by *conforming to what YOU want* (including moments of just *being his human self* and reacting to posts *from his own sensibilities,* which...again, in case you missed it, *he's clearly claimed the right to do, here*)...you get self-righteously ugly...*as if he promised one thing, and delivered another*... How do you do that?
Everyone whines about "the Golden Old Days at EB," when, they say, none of this happened...? You're hilarious! The only Before and After, there, is that Before, the dark perversion of the GOP's desire to take over the country and establish fascist rule was a little more more tucked in, and now that it's their proud mission, those of us *who value our country* are shouting as loud as we have to, to match and stand down their inhumane zeal....... The fact that people here haven't demonstrated for you that same shouting *for Gaza,* as you wish they would, has nothing to do with people refusing to be humanitarian, or aware, and everything to do with that being a far more complex picture than you, or those imagining you HAVE the full picture, can know... Some of us realize that and are choosing our battles best we can...
“'the most important thing one can do, imo, is try to work on their own self...try to be a better person'.
No shit. Sharing information here and working on oneself are not mutually exclusive activities. Isn't that a reason you have this site?"
No, they're not "mutually exclusive"... Neither does working on oneself necessarily lead to taking a stance that resonates with yours...nor does it involve being verbally abused by those who can't seem to grok that others see different/bigger pictures than you do...nor does it mean that the reality and image of dying humans...women and children...*ever disappears* from consciousness any more than it does for you...
Yes, akira, U.S. involvement in Israel/Gaza, in anything we'd see as *obvious human atrocity,* guts the sensibilities of anyone with functional hearts... We also know that everything going on, locally and globally, is entirely off any previous charts *in all contexts*...and bringing *Humane Reality* fully back into either of those arenas is going to take a lot more than anything anyone's passionate venting here could possibly accomplish...or you, personallly railing against people here who've offered you insufficient response to your posts, could possibly generate...
...and, no: That does *not* translate to apathy, nor to hearts & minds that've turned away from seeking bottom- line Truth, nor to just about anything you need to insist is so, so you can feel justified in your condescending stance of being The Only One Who Cares...apart from the GOPers here, of course, who eagerly fawn over anything that offers distraction from focus upon the fact that they're supporters of Fascists now...

agreed. seems to be another plea to stop speaking up against genocide that our tax dollars are paying for. what is happening is against both international and us law. it is just unbelievable to me the pushback we get for speaking up about israel slaughtering thousands of civilians, mostly women and children

But feel free to talk about Russia's invasion of Ukraine... that was a hot topic for a while. Guess everyone just got bored? I was called everything from a commie, an unpatriotic American, a bigot, a putin lover, what else? because I didn't jump on that particular wagon along with the rest of them. What ridiculous hypocrites. They all forgot already. lol

I still back support of Ukraine..strongly.
My focus is on this election and defeating Trump, because both the Palestinians and Ukrainians (and possibly most of Europe) will be in full danger if the Demented Orange turd wins.

The seventies was a time of change and bits of hope.
Reagan took that and put it into the trash with the White House solar panels.
I only blame *rump and treason on *rump.
That doesn't make Democrats perfect, just in comparison, patriots.

during Clinton & Obama years democrats learned how to love war, look forwards not backwards, cling to eternal hope, deregulate big industry to their hearts content and love the bomb
