Hamas surrender and ‘stop hiding behind civilians’

Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Wednesday called
out other countries for not demanding Hamas surrender.
“What is striking to me is that even as, again, we hear
many countries urging the end to this conflict, which
we would all like to see, I hear virtually no one
saying – demanding of Hamas that it stop hiding behind
civilians, that it lay down its arms, that it
surrender. This is over tomorrow if Hamas does that.
This would have been over a month ago, six weeks ago,
if Hamas had done that,” Blinken said during a press
briefing at the State Department Wednesday.
“How can it be that there are no demands made of the
aggressor and only demands made of the victim,” Blinken
went on to say.
The strong comments from Blinken come as the United
Nations Security Council continues to negotiate a
resolution calling for a suspension in fighting and
encouraging more humanitarian aid into the beleaguered
Gaza Strip, and as the United States’ support for the
resolution remains unresolved.

What we know for certain without surrender the war will
not stop.
With surrender international aid will arrive, voices
will be heard, international laws will be observed, and
the chances Palestinians will be allowed self
determination rise considerably. No surrender, no
chance.

Give Hamas freedom to what? Kill, kidnap, destroy?
Hamas has never wavered in their goal to eliminate
Israel.
This was not begun by Israel, and they are doing a fine
job of creating misery, but Hamas could end it by
releasing hostages, or hostage, we know they have one,
and just accept a ceasefire.

Hamas attacked, killed, kidnapped, tortured.
Hamas lobs missiles.
Hamas kills and hides behind civilians.
Hamas controls food.
Hamas has weapons to fight AND control the population,
even keeping them from getting food that doesn't come
from their hands.
So, first get rid of murdering militarized autocratic
Hamas.
Then when the world offers food, healthcare, observers
change is possible. With Hamas there is only perpetual
war, that is what they have vowed until Israel and
Israelis are eliminated. With Hamas there is no change
to perpetual war!
My observation looking at the map, Israel was set up to
be destroyed as the Arabs attacked the first day it was
announced, not official, just announced. Israelis
didn't fold and kept winning, then took every advantage
against an enemy that insisted on it's destruction.
The Arabs didn't have to fight, but it was their
choice, again and again. Just as it is their choice to
kidnap children and lob 30,000,+ missiles over the
years. They need to understand these choices will not
get them what they want.
The starving children are posters for propaganda.
Where are starving Hamas? They don't exist. They hide
behind hungry children.
Hamas has to go.

Unfortunately each believes God favored them with the
same property.
So, the Hamas believe the loftiest death is martyrdom
in the cause of taking back the land dedicated to
Allah.
Not sure, but as is promoted, some Israelis believe it
is their duty to control the land YHWH gave them.
And both sides' Holy Books contain passages that allow
one side to kill the other.
What is required is another interpretation of
God/Allah's will.
Truly, I wish they would take your word for it.

i don't think anyone i giving israel a "free pass"...i think everyone here has acknowledged that the the killing of innocent palestinians is horrifically sad and excessive...hamas is still killing too, but you always seem to ignore that fact...

Israel has offered ceasefire, Hamas won't accept it...
Hamas are the ones who insist on continued killing.
If they won't agree to even a ceasefire... and want to
continue the fight, you continue to blame Israel?
No wonder there is a war there, a peace can't be
brokered here without "some people" wanting to keep
fighting.
Sigh.
