A preliminary magnitude 3.7 earthquake rattled the Bay Area on Thursday afternoon after a series of smaller quakes hours before in the same area, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The latest shake happened at 1:59 p.m., with an epicenter about 1.2 miles east of Hayward and a depth of about 4.34 miles.

According to a USGS Did You Feel It? survey, the quake was felt in other parts of the Bay Area, including San Francisco, Berkeley, Concord and Fremont. No injuries were reported.

The previous earthquakes were just minutes apart from each other and measured magnitudes of 3.2 and 3.3 in the same area, along the Hayward fault.
