This seems pertinent especially in light of Jack Coles
forecast today (roll n rock). The source isn't the best,
I couldn't find a better one.

Wow! Could they have sensationalized this story more so than they did? Sheesh...

Anyway, being an aerospace enthusiast, I have followed Vandenberg launches for
nearly 30 years. I have observed several Minuteman III launches. I can say with
confidence that this is very much a routine test of the missile. The timing is
coincidence as these launches are scheduled months or more in advance.

There have been several hundred of these tests of this missile over the past
50 years. They are used to test the readiness and reliability of the system and
provide 'live fire' practice for the personnel who we hope will never be called
upon to launch them in anger. The launches are also used to test detection,
tracking, and defenses against such weapons. How better to test than against
the real thing?

For some information on Vandenberg launches of all kinds, check out the following
