URL: there are about 8 quakes as of this typing. |

after all these swarms around the Long Valley Caldera it looks like a newer one just started at Tom's place South of the caldera.

3.2 quake Southeast of the caldera, new answer.
Long Valley Caldera is just what was left of the mountain but I am sure the subterranean is much larger than the USGS map shows it to be. when i visited it the valley was near 20 miles long, map shows it to be about 15 miles.
years ago gas and tree kill zone was West of the map too (per Don of Hollister.) so I am sure the quake zone is that large. I remember many quake swarms at Hawthorne too. my concern was when I drove by it there looked to be a massive military weapon ground storage area.

about 70 quakes there at this time, just off the North end of the Long Valley Caldera. just a reminder there was a swarm at Lake Tahoe not too long ago.

I’ve been watching this area also. Could it have a connection to the Double Springs Flat 5.8 quake of Sept. 1994? I remember that one clearly because we were coming back from visiting my uncle in Carson City NV and heading south in the 395. We were just south of Gardnerville , when I got a massive pressure headache and got really nauseous. I told my husband there was a lot of pressure in the ground nearby. Sure enough, we got home that Sunday late afternoon and the next morning it hit.
