Interesting. But your article mentions that they are experimenting EGS in
areas other than the Geysers, where it occurs naturally.



Also that EGS works opposite than fracking, where EGS cools and shrinks
the rocks, and expands the cracks. Fracking uses high pressure fluids to
fracture the rock, creating cracks.



So my take-away of this article is that they are not, or don't needs to use
EGS at Geysers.



I took a look at Newberry Volcano area (@ link), and see five micro quakes in
the last 30 days.

That report made it clear what they have been doing for a long time.



I'd be curious how much energy is required to pump all that water, from hill
and dale, then down to the reservoirs.
