Ruang Volcano Eruption Update; Prepare for Unusual
Atmospheric Phenomena
Only 50 hours ago, the second largest explosive volcanic
eruption in the last 40 years occurred, devastating an
inhabited island. This all occurred at the Ruang volcano
in Indonesia, and due to the sheer amount of sulfur
dioxide it ejected, people have asked if it will cause a
volcanic winter. I will discuss if this eruption has the
potential to cool the climate, and discuss the
spectacular sunsets its aerosols might create.
