it was West of the Long Valley caldera that had steam vents.
this is close enough to Mt. Hood to be in that range.

at age 13 I had vision of Mt Hood blowing up big time, the whole mountain, from ground level up.
I also had vision of Mount St. Helens but top 1/3 blew up then.
never had a date of the events, just if you live near there be fore warned.

From your link..

Steam spotted rising from asphalt on a residential street near Rocky Butte
raised questions on social media Saturday evening.

However, Portland Bureau of Transportation reports that this is not a cause
for concern at this time.

According to PBOT, their sewer crew went found the issue came from a
private property between a couple apartment complexes which use steam
heat.

A resident of one apartment complex told a member of PBOT’s sewer crew
that property management has been aware of the issue and it had been
going on for six months or longer.

Ah, gotta watch out for those "homeless issues" for sure.

Hey, here in Hawaii, we have more homelessness than anywhere else in the
country, are we not trustworthy either?

Steam under the sidewalks
Many of the older buildings in downtown Portland were
heated by steam piped from a plant located more or less
under the west end of the Marquam Bridge. The plant was
inefficient, became outdated, and closed in 1985.

so my question is the plant that feeds the steam is
closed than how can it be steam from pipes.

I read somewhere many are being shipped there (?) from
other cities in the U.S. their airline tickets being paid
for the homeless person chooses the destination.

Yep, happens pretty regularly. Other governors figure our beaches are better
than their underpasses. And for the price of a one way ticket to Hawaii a cheap
way to solve their problem. Not on the scale of what Texas is doing but yeah
that's the play. The latest was Alaska..
