City officials in Juneau, Alaska, have issued an
emergency declaration as a glacier lake outburst flood
wreaks havoc near the city, where structures have been
destroyed.
The flooding is due to a break
on Suicide Basin, a side basin on the Mendenhall
Glacier, located about 12 miles north of Alaska's state
capital. A glacial lake outburst flood occurs when a
dam containing a glacial lake breaks.

I hear the first sounds of Karen Carpenter singing… it’s only just begun.
There are many large, unimaginable large, surges of water, held back by
temp damming structures during heating cycles, in the geologic record.
Big ones.. sheet floods going far beyond just a rise in a river, flooding
whole land masses. I know one geophysicist that’s been trying to show a
correlation between them and Noah’s endeavor.
A similar situation is developing in Antarctica, lot of water accumulating
under melting glaciers, poised to be released in massive surges..
