Liquefaction due to Earthquakes
Apr 14, 2023 Brandy Alger shows how liquefaction occurs due to earthquakes, using a shaketable in the geomechanics laboratory at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch. Liquefaction was a huge problem during the Canterbury earthquake sequence of 2010 to 2011, with thousands of homes rendered uninhabitable as a result. Where once there were houses is now a large expanse of grass, trees and abandoned streets in the Red Zone of Christchurch Te Hiranga Rū QuakeCoRE ( http://www.quakecore.nz/ ) is a collaboration of earthquake researchers that together constitute the New Zealand Centre for Earthquake Resilience.

liquefaction in old times
Mudflood or Liquefaction??
Prague Mudflood and Tartaria Remnants Traveling through Prague, Czech Republic I stayed at an artists flat that had a library of books from the 1950s with images of the old world buildings and maps back to the 1550s. This is the first of several parts of castles and palaces with remnants of Tartaria and evidence of a mudflood around 1606.
