EXCERPT:

The Ramapo Fault System The Ramapo Fault is part of a system of north-east
striking, southeast-dipping faults, which are mapped from southeastern New York to
eastern Pennsylvania and beyond. These faults were active at different times during
the evolution of the Appalachians, especially in the Mesozoic when they served as
border faults to the Newark Basin and other extensional basins formed by the
opening of the Atlantic Ocean approximately 200 million years ago.

Eve, years age I had read a report that they had discovered the whole length
of the St. Lawrence River valley was a major fault. this after a house on the Canadian side fell into a sink hole.
over thirty plus years and driving cross country and viewing strange flat highway
sink spots along the way. and also monitoring swarms as near where friends or family
lived. I am sure the Buffalo shaker is similar to any off SAF shakers the likes
of Lander fault ( went through there when a train was knocked off the track) and I-40 speed limit reduced to about 35 MPH due to major
dips in the roadway. I found one of those major dips on highway I-70 in Illinois.
it all follows through Arkansas, to El Paso area TX. I had been watching swarms
in Arkansas since the 1970 as wife's extended family lived there.
funny thing is until my own discovery I always thought the off center quakes lined up the
New Madrid fault line North and South along the Mississippi River, boy was I wrong!
that is the locked area.
I do not have any links to the original findings on that.
it is like finding the research on Lake Tahoe. after visiting and viewing what to
me was like a volcano cone West side park area. I came to believe that the whole
lake was a giant Caldera that just filled in with water. some researchers
many years ago found they had not dug deep enough to finally verify that case that
it is indeed a caldera.
(but do not say it loud it might lower property values and the USGS might get
sued for again for RE tax losses.)

sorry I did not provide a link. we had a series of rapid fire gun shots
near my neighborhood and I was late getting out to my golf group this AM.
it was a guy and gal issue. I believe she went with cops and sheriff to get her things.
I think he threw her belongings out side and then got a AR-15 and shot them all up
just as the police arrived on the scene. one of my golf partners live two houses away
said he heard over 50 shots. after 7 hours negotiating I guess they found him dead,
self inflicted gun shot. Maury County TN
been quite a day...

I believe his girl friend showed up to collect her belongings with the local PD
and a Sheriff. I think he stepped out side and threw her clothes into the front yard
then took a semi auto firing over 50 shots into her belongings. nobody was hurt
but for what he did to himself. my golf buddy lived two homes away from the incident.
he and his wife just shook up. he said there was a big fight with the couple last week.

Seismologist Yaareb Altaweel said it was the region's strongest quake in at least 40 years, according to the Associated Press.

The USGS reports that people felt the crash as far away as Oshawa in Canada and Pennsylvania's Allegheny Mountains. The agency says
people can use this link to report feeling the quake.

A quake of that magnitude is considered minor, according to the geological survey.

“It felt like a car hit my house in Buffalo. I jumped out of bed,” Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz tweeted. County emergency
services officials confirmed the earthquake was felt in at least a 30-mile radius, including in Niagara Falls, about 20 miles north
of Buffalo, he said.

Small earthquakes are not unusual in upstate New York but are rarely felt as strongly. The earthquake comes on the heels of two
record-breaking weather events in the region: A snowstorm that dropped as much as 7 feet of snow in November and a blizzard in
December that is blamed for 47 deaths.

By contrast, two separate major earthquakes that hit Turkey on Monday measured magnitudes of 7.8 and 7.5. The quakes and their
aftershocks are being blamed for at least 1,300 with the death toll expected to rise significantly in the coming hours and days.
