"People also ask

Do planetary alignments cause earthquakes?

Planets interact with each other influencing
earthquakes via the gravitational stresses arising from
the configuration of the solar system planets that
cause a slowdown of the rotational/revolving speed of
the Earth. This stimulates the Earth's plate to move
generating earthquake due to the activation of faults."

I entered my question because supposedly the planets
are in alignment now.

...noted in the Google answer, very simply.

It's like a speeding car slowing down with the
occupants slightly lunging forward.

So even though the earth has "slowed" rotation, the
crust on top keeps moving, resulting in a sort of
jostling of the plates, ergo, more earthquakes.
