Subject: After Seeing the Map Shown by YouTube Luke Holmquist... |

...in his latest video, the map that indicated where
the earthquake was felt, I have a question for any
earthquake expert.
If areas much farther away from the 6.4 California
quake felt it, but other areas closer did not feel it,
would that mean those areas that felt it are connected
in some way, whether very deep or more shallow, to the
epicenter of the 6.4, such that there was obvious
movement under their location too, such that their
location may be less stable when it comes to an even
bigger future quake in the epicenter of the 6.4 quake?

no link to map, but, from my experience here in the PNW,
where it is felt depends on which fault line and how
deep/where on the fault line/and where it latches onto
maybe another fault line/what the soil composition is
near fault and surrounding areas.
When I lived on Vashon Island, WA, lived on what was in
the early 1900's a gravel pit. When the eqs would hit -
even small ones, we felt them more so than others nearby
on more solid ground.

...was thinking it might be, but I'm not a geologist or
earthquake specialist.
I was looking for confirmation from some such person.

...shake loose any "catches" that might be holding one
of those connected faults in place, thus resulting in
more quakes.
