in the area 81 quakes in the last 7 days.
this is where the mid-continent fault goes. it runs from the St. Lawrence River valley through the
New Madrid MO. through to Texas and ends up at the under water San Andreas Fault in mid-Baja California Gulf.
find a map and when you draw the line through those areas you will see where it is.
I was reading how people in San Antonio TX felt it this morning.
I have been monitoring the quakes along this line for years now.
especially after the swarm at rte.36 hits IL and Indiana.
the house swallowed up with it's occupants along the Canadian side with all the family missing.
then there was the Michigan land raising up on the North side of the line. much like the land did
on Summit Road in the Santa Cruz Mountains of Loma Prieta quake.
also the constant swarms of Western Arkansas.

5.4 magnitude earthquake strikes near Mentone
This is the third strongest earthquake ever to strike Texas, and the strongest since 1995.

The United States Geological Survey is reporting that a magnitude 5.4 earthquake shook much of west Texas around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The quake struck west-southwest of Mentone, about 35 miles northwest of Pecos, at a depth of about 5.5 miles.

It was followed by six aftershocks, the strongest of which was a 3.8.

This is the third strongest earthquake ever to strike Texas, and the strongest since 1995. Other west Texas areas on the list of the strongest in
state history include Fort Davis, Alpine and Loving County.
