...of 1/8 inch ants in your living space. I've never had them before and now I've been seeing them, not a lot, but lately, an occasional ant shows up and I'm on the second floor of my apartment building. I read that ants leave their mound and hang out around it before earthquakes. |

Sounds like carpenter or harvest ants ..both are large. This is also the time of year when the drones and queens start flying around. This is "ant season" when they do that sort of thing. Carpenter ants can do damage to buildings. They can actually burrow and live in the wood. Telltale sawdust around wood in the home can be a sign. |

lol...guess it's all in the delivery. Been battling sugar ants, myself. After three bouts of wars where they found their way in, we took a bribery strategy. Basically, I go out with a half a cup of sugar to the far corners of the property. They decided easy food was better than doing war with the humans in the house, and I've been relieved of their attacks since. You can mix the sugar with boric acid crystals as well if you really want to "get them". However, with so much other wildlife in the area, we try to stay away from chemical fixes if possible. |
