That was wonderful. We enjoyed the pics so much. It would have been nice
for her to include the full description of where, what, and how old each tree
she photographed was.

Of all of them, I have only been to the Bristlecone pine forest in the White
Mountains, above Bishop, CA.

As it is Mother's Day, I'd like to share a story about Mom and the
Bristlecone's. She went up to the Bristlecone Pine Forest with another group
of friends. Of course she took plenty of pictures, and found a particular tree
she just loved. It was well off the trail, but well within view. She created a
incredible tapestry of this tree, from a photo.

She made plans and arrangements for all of us siblings and families to meet
in Bishop, travel up the White Mountains, to the Bristlecone's, and who ever
could find this tree, would get the tapestry. The tapestry resided in my
house for a while, then passed it to my sister's house for a while more, and
then she passed it to my brother's house, where it remains today.

But what a beautiful place to experience. Can't wait to take Val up there, and
will make a point to do it soon. Early fall would be the best time, as the
elevation is so high. And forget it if you have a hard time breathing.

I love trees. Here's her website where she has a gallery
of other subjects.
