When I go to Cal Tech the screen jerks as if it
is being hidden?!? After the 4.6 off the Baja
Coast...this makes me think something larger may
be brewing, and they are concerned? Weird!

The other day I took a screenshot of the accuweather air
quality map. The water around the Channel Islands was in
the red/poor air quality. I kept wondering what was going
on there, could it be volcanic? And now this.. something
is definitely afoot, don't ya think?

Well, I've often wondered if the Channel
Islands, Catalina, etc. might be remnants of a
volcanic event from eons ago...just the outline
of the Southern Cali coast looks as if there
might be an ancient caldera beneath the waves,
dissected by beaucoup faults, especially that
transverse one running right through the Channel
Islands and inland toward Pasadena? I think that
is the Raymond Fault. Anyway, it's curious, huh?

"Hi everyone - #ShakeAlert detected a non-
earthquake event which triggered our system.
Fortunately, no public alerts were sent out.
This is a bit of a first time for us because
these events happen so rarely. Apologies for any
confusion from our previous tweets."

OK...What do you mean 'non-earthquake' event?
Surly not a quarry blast...in the ocean!? Maybe
one of those unexploded ordinances which were
dumped in the area for years, exploded while
being removed during a promised cleanup? Hmmm...

LOL...SURELY not surly, though it WAS very surly
of USGS to leave me hanging! NBC, CBS, FOX,
GLOBAL INCIDENTS ALL listed/reported on it, plus
others...all except USGS/CALTECH!

I originally heard it on KNX radio news, which
is why I came to post. Then the CalTech site
acted suspiciously, not as usual. Still not
satisfied with their 'story'. The plot thickens!
